Basic research most common at higher education institutions in 2021

2022-12-01

The Higher education sector’s expenditures for research and development (R&D) amounted to about 43 SEK billion in 2021. That was an increase of more than 453 SEK million compared to 2019 in fixed prices. The internal personnel in the Higher education sector performed R&D to about 20 000 full-time equivalents, of which women stood for 47 percent and men for 53 percent.
